In Passing is a narrative virtual reality project about navigating public space based on perceptions of identity, self-identifications, and the rift which often exists between the two. The foundation of the work consists of several videos from men, women, and non-binary people narrating their personal experience moving through public space. Each video is cropped to reveal only the mouth, then superimposed onto 3D avatars in a virtual space.
